In celebration of Brian Fitzgibbons’ 40th year as Publican of The Glen Hotel, we are proud to share If These Walls Could Talk, a social media series dedicated to perserving the stories, memories, and people that have shaped our venue across generations.
After more than 160 years, there are countless stories hidden within the walls of The Glen Hotel. Stories of family, community, hospitality, hard work, and the people who helped shape our venue into what it is today.
We are proud to share the series featuring Owner & Director, Brian Fitzgibbons. Across a collection of short-form episodes, Brian sat down to reflect on the stories, memories, lessons and moments that have defined The Glen Hotel throughout its history.
As a family-run hotel, we believe our greatest asset isn’t simply the buildings, facilities, or even our 160-plus years of operation. It’s the people who have walked through our doors. Through Brian’s reflections, viewers were given a glimpse into the evolution of The Glen Hotel, from its early days through to becoming one of Brisbane’s most recognised hospitality destinations.
One message emerged time and time again throughout the series, ‘Hospitality is about people’.
As Brian explains in the final episode, “All we have to do is make people happier when they leave than when they arrive.”
It is a philosophy that has guided generations of our team and remains at the heart of everything we do.
We are incredibly proud of this project, not only because it celebrates our history, but because it helps preserve it. These stories form part of the legacy of The Glen Hotel and ensure future generations can better understand the people, values and moments that helped build the venue they know today.
